Santiago de Querétaro is the capital and largest city of the state of Querétaro, located in central Mexico. It is located 220 km to the north of Mexico City by the federal highway 57D. Santiago de Queretaro was founded in 1531, among bloody battles between native Indian and Spanish conquerors. Under the protection of the Apostle Santiago, who appeared in the skies in order to seal with his image the cultural mixture of which became the third colonial city of the XVIII century.

Take full advantage of your weekend by exploring a collection of treasures that is part of the 1996 declared World Heritage Site by UNESCO and one of the top 15 historic destinations of the world according National Geographic. The city is notable for the many ornate civil and religious Baroque monuments from its golden age in the 17th and 18th centuries. Furthermore, the historic downtown offers the visitor over centuries of history and tradition through its aqueduct, plazas, temples, mansions and palaces that make of this city one of the most beautiful colonial spots.

Today, the city is one of the fastest-growing in the country, with its economic base in industries such as chemicals, paper products and machinery. This has caused the city and the metropolitan area to attract many Expats from around the world.
